COVID-19: Information and Resources from our Partners at Atrium Health

We at MOABS know there is no shortage of questions and concerns about COVID-19 right now. Our Charlotte Presenting Partner Atrium Health explains on their “Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)” web page:

• This virus is from the family of Coronaviruses – a group of viruses that result in illnesses ranging from the common cold to potentially deadly effects.
• Like many other respiratory viruses circulating this time of year, the typical symptoms of 2019-nCoV (COVID-19) include fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
• They emphasize that excellent hand hygiene and early identification/isolation are the most important things you can do to protect yourself and the community

Atrium Health reminds residents in North Carolina with questions or concerns about coronavirus that they may call the newly established Coronavirus Line: 1-866-462-3821. The helpline number is staffed by North Carolina Poison Control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Nurses and pharmacists handling the calls can help people know:

• How coronavirus is spread
• Whether or not a person is at risk
• What precautions can be taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus
• What the symptoms are of coronavirus
• What to do if coronavirus is suspected

Everyone is encouraged to visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/ for more information directly from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Their website is being updated with information as it becomes available.

Finally, we at The Mother of All Baby Showers are paying close attention to recommendations from National as well as Local Municipalities in each of the nine cities we have MOABS events scheduled this year. The safety and health of our attendees and partners is always paramount and though it made us incredibly sad, we know postponing our Dallas event was the right decision. We will continue to communicate as the date for each upcoming event comes closer and assure everyone we will give AMPLE notice if any of our other events need to be postponed.
